Days of the diva « parterre field

This week, in Pique Dame Karita Mattila is scolded by Leonie Rysanek and pursued by Ben Heppner and Dmitri Hvorostovsky, whereas Valerie Masterson, Patricia Kern and John Brecknock have a three-way in Rossini’s Le Comte Ory.

I’m hoping to not duplicate something out there on YouTube which has turn out to be more and more tough because the years go. I’ll merely say that the 1995 Pique Dame stays probably the most memorable performances I’ve attended (I went earlier within the run; this pirate recording preserves the ultimate one with this sterling forged). Later this month Lyric Opera of Chicago presents Ory starring Kathryn Lewek and Lawrence Brownlee.
