EYE CONTACT: Dos and Don’ts!


Eye Contact

Eye Contact, like all components of non-verbal communication, is extraordinarily vital when delivering a presentation.

When finished appropriately, there’s a higher reference to these watching and listening.

When Eye Contact just isn’t finished properly, there is usually a disconnect between what you propose to convey and what your viewers perceives as your message.

The next Dos and Don’ts are IMPORTANT!

Learn them – Perceive them – Use them!

DO

When talking:

  • DO take a look at people immediately within the eye, end a thought, then
  • DO transfer on to another person in a distinct part. Repeat.
  • DO take a look at all locations your viewers is seated.

When answering a query:

  • DO begin answering by wanting immediately at the one that requested the query, then observe the above instructions.

DON’T

When talking:

  • DON’T stare at anybody.
    That will make them uncomfortable and nobody likes that.
  • DON’T be a like searchlight, shifting your head back and forth and never making a reference to people.
  • DON’T roll your eyes if somebody asks a query you take into account foolish.
    • Necessary: Non-verbal communication, like that, trumps verbal communication.
      We imagine what we see.
  • DON’T look solely at an attendee who requested a query.
    • They may really feel inspired to ask one other query.
      Should you reply that one by solely taking a look at them, you’re in a dialog that excludes others in your viewers.
