The Huddersfield Modern Music Competition (hcmf//) has renewed its partnership with Swedish cultural establishments and the 2022 competition, which runs from 18 to 27 November 2022, will function a wide-ranging survey of up to date Swedish voices. Composer Lisa Streich is the competition’s 2022 composer-i-residence and alongside a complete survey of her music shall be performances of by composer, musician and artist Ann Rosén, music by Johan Svensson and Lisa Järnegard carried out by the virtuosic Heather Roche/Eva Zöllner duo, and a solo set by David Granström, as a part of a day devoted to digital music in partnership with the ORAM Awards (a platform for innovation in sound, music, and associated applied sciences, that may be a partnership between UK-based organisations, The Radiophonic Institute, PRS Basis, and the Daphne Oram Belief, to raise the work and voices of ladies and gender minority music creators in digital music).

The Ethiopian-born Swedish experimental singer, composer and improviser Sofia Jernberg will take the inventive lead in Freedom to Transfer, a three-day inventive intensive workshop with 5 UK-based singers throughout genres, to be chosen by an open name, which culminates in a public efficiency. 

The Swedish programme at hcmf// is supported by STIM (Council for the Promotion of New Music) in collaboration with Stim Ahead Fund, Export Music Sweden, Västra Götalandsregionen, The Swedish Composers’ Society and the Embassy of Sweden.
