Julian Azkoul’s United Strings of Europe is becoming a member of forces with vocal collective SANSARA, director Tom Herring, and Syrian oud participant Basel Saleh to current Music of Sanctuary and Solidarity, a sequence of choral and instrumental music on the well timed and enduring themes of sanctuary, solidarity and displaced peoples on the Church of St Martin-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Sq. on Friday 25 November 2022.

The live performance will characteristic the world premiere of Kyiv-born composer Natalia Tsupryk‘s A Quiet Night time (Tyhohi Nochi), setting Ukrainian poet Serhiy Zhadan, with quotations from considered one of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. 

Additionally within the programme is the European premiere of Caroline Shaw‘s To The Arms, a six motion cantata responding to Dietrich Buxtehude’s Advert manus from his Membra Jesu nostri, the UK premiere of The Journey by Lebanese composer Houtaf Khoury, commissioned by United Strings of Europe, and music by Icelandic composer Hildur Guðnadóttir,
