September live performance photographs: Ringo Starr, Amyl and the Sniffers, and The Mars Volta


Every month, live performance photographer Perry Julien shares photographs he took solely for ArtsATL of exhibits he attended at varied venues throughout Atlanta. 

This month’s live shows embrace Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band on the Cobb Vitality Performing Arts Middle on September 19. The fabled Beatles drummer certainly introduced a band of musical luminaries that included Edgar Winter, Colin Hay from Males At Work, Hamish Sturt from The Common White Band, together with Steve Lukather and Warren Ham from Toto.

Additionally included are photographs from Amyl and The Sniffers from their sold-out Selection Playhouse live performance September 21. The Australian group was one of many “buzz” bands from this 12 months’s Shaky Knees Pageant.

Lastly, The Mars Volta with opening act Teri Gender Bender from their sold-out present on the Tabernacle. The Mars Volta, based mostly out of El Paso, Texas, went on hiatus in 2012 however reunited to file a brand new album in 2019. That is the band’s first live performance tour in 11 years.
