Sunny and the Sunglows (later often called Sunny and the Sunliners) we’re often called an American musical group, shaped in 1959, in San Antonio, Texas.
The group’s members have been all chicanos excluding Amos Johnson Jr., and their model was a mix of rhythm and blues, tejano, blues, and mariachi.They first recorded in 1962 for their very own label, Sunglow. Okeh Data picked up their single “Golly Gee” for nationwide distribution that yr, and in 1963, Huey P Meaux, a producer from Louisiana and proprietor of Tear Drop Data, had them file a canopy “Speak to Me” model of Little Willie John’s 1958 hit.
The only “Speak to Me”.(b/w “Each Week, Each Month, Each 12 months”), launched on Tear Drop Data (#3014), went to #4 on the Grownup Up to date chart, #12 on the US Black Singles chart, and #11 on the Billboard Scorching 100 in October 1963.
